College of Charleston's Sarah Schaidle and Hannah Gmerek Selected to the All- SoCon 1st Team.
Consistent high level performances have been the norm for Sarah Schaidle and Hannah Gmerek over the course of the their College of Charleston careers.
Congratulations are in order for former CESA standouts currently playing at the College of Charleston. Seniors Sarah Schaidle and Hannah Gmerek were repeat selections for the All-SoCon Team. Schaidle and Gmerek were both picked by the leagues coaches as 1st Team selections after successful seasons.
Schaidle scored 7 goals including 3 game winners and is a consistent attacking threat for Charleston. Sarah’s goals were the difference in two important one goal victories during conference play.
Gmerek is a player with the pace and athleticism to unsettle any team. She scored 5 goals and registered 4 assists during the season including both goals in a 2-2 game with Furman.
In addition to Gmerek and Schaidle major contributions to the College of Charleston season were made by fellow seniors and former CESA players Ally Truitt and Cricket Wise. Truitt scored 1Goal and had 1 Assist as she started 17 games for the Cougars. Cricket Wise has started 15 games in goal and has helped Charleston to a 3rd place regular season conference finish.
College of Charleston has reached the semi-final round of the Southern Conference tournament in Greensboro, NC and will play on November 4th against Georgia Southern University. A Charleston win will advance them to the Southern Conference Tournament Final on November 6th. The final will be broadcast live on ESPN3.
